Oh hey there, you non-runner, you. Have you long been jealous of all your runner friends and their races? Races just look so fun: the swag, the sense of community, the pride of having accomplished something.
I’ve long been a hanger-on supporter at races. I love going to cheer my friends on at finish lines because (1) I get to drink a beer early in the morning to celebrate all their hard work and (2) the energy and positive vibes from all those sweaty, accomplished people is addictive.
I’ve also done my share of crewing longer runs.
I love camping out, cheering runners on, and practicing my hula hooping in between aid station stops.
It’s so fun being part of the sweaty community—and though people are always very welcoming even if you’re not officially part of the event, I’ve always longed for a way to be officially involved myself. To have something to look forward to and to fully immerse myself in the experience.
The EMPOWER Race series gives me just that race experience without the need to actually run (finally!). So if running isn’t your thing, come join us for the yoga and festival parts of the weekend. We’ll be doing tons of yoga, connecting with our sweaty community, cheering on all participants, whether they’re doing the half marathon or half hanumanasana.
And of course, if you’re a runner, by all means, join us for all of it!
