Tell us a bit about yourself...
My name is Justine, I have been living and travelling across the country doing and teaching yoga for 7 years now!
When did you start practicing yoga?
What do you love most about it? I started practicing yoga in 2010, the first year I moved to NYC. I loved how it made me feel, open, loose and completely focused on myself.
What’s your favorite thing about teaching yoga?
WHEN STUDENTS ASK QUESTIONS! I love having conversations with my students, getting to know their bodies and providing guidance to help them understand, trust, and appreciate their bodies.
Where do you find your inspiration for your classes?
I find inspiration in constant wellness, whether it be taking someone else’s class, going to acupuncture, floating (float spa), meditation. I basically find inspiration when I have created space to be inspired.
Do you run? If so, why?
Surprisingly, I have been running 3-4 times a week for the last couple of months. Why, you ask… I am currently too busy to fit in random group class times into my schedule and running is the only relief that I can squeeze in at the moment!
What are your suggestions for runners getting into yoga?
I truly think runners are lucky. As a runner, you already have restriction and body awareness built in. Your body is already conditioned to tell you when to take it easy and BREATHE.
What is your favorite pose?
Pigeon, grasshopper (oooh hips)
And lastly, what is your spirit animal?
DEER. FAWN! All day.
